Welcome to the eCompanion for HIS 113, World Civilizations I, this is an online format that serves as a "companion" to the classroom experience. This course will be "paperless" as all assignments will be posted, graded and returned online.

On this site you will find:

1)   The syllabus under "Course Home" and a restatement of the assignment each week under the "Week" headings.

2)   The power point that is shown in class

3)   Extra Credit opportunities each week (for each extra credit you successfully complete, you will have 1 point added to your final grade for the semester)

4)   A section of additional resources to be found on the web. Also, if you find great web sites you would like to share with the class, post them in the webliography

5)   A Virtual Office where you can leave a comment or question for me and I will respond to you within 24 hours (Under Course Home)

6)   The place to post your weekly assignments:
          a)   Witness to the Past - Your responses to the primary source document is to be posted in the Dropbox
          b)    Chapter Chart - This chapter summary will be downloaded from Doc Sharing and then uploaded into the Dropbox when 
                  completed 

7)   There will be three quizzes throughout the semester, these will be taken on the eCompanion. The quizzes will be multiple choice, matching and fill in the blank and will be given at the completion of each section. 

8)   Your personal gradebook. Throughout the semester you will be able to follow the recording of your grades and keep track of your average as well as any extra credit you may complete.
