$5 million available for qualified students to help pay for college

In keeping with its commitment to help students pay for a postsecondary education, TG has provided $5 million in funding for need-based grants to its Charley Wootan Grant Program for the 2012-2013 academic year.

TG's Board of Directors allocated $4 million to be awarded to students from Texas, and the remaining $1 million to students residing in other states. The grants are available to students pursuing undergraduate degrees or certificates, or enrolled in teacher certification programs. TG will award the one-year grants of up to $4,000 on a first-come, first-served basis. The funds must be used to pay for postsecondary education.

The 2012-2013 Charley Wootan Grant Program application will be available on Tuesday, April 17.

For more information and to download an application, visit the Charley Wootan Grant Program website at www.aie.org/wootan.
